LaShunda Rundles is a motivational speaker and gospel singer living in Dallas, Texas. As a member of Toastmasters International, LaShunda attained the 2008 title of the World Champion of Public Speaking. This achievement was significant since Ms. Rundles is the first African-American female to attain this honor in the history of Toastmasters. In addition, it was also the first time a female claimed the prize since 1986. Ms. Rundles is a member of the Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and professes that her favorite gift is that of salvation.
Living with a serious illness, Systemic Lupus, LaShunda has endured 19 surgeries and several grim prognoses. However, LaShunda is proud that she has found victory in life. Her speech topics cover a variety of topics from corporate presence and customer service skills, to death, illness, and salvation, to humor about life. “I realize that each day I have has been granted by God’s grace. Therefore, I don’t take for granted life nor God’s sovereignty. “ LaShunda is a member of the North Texas Lupus Foundation and hopes to continually raise awareness about this mysterious illness. As an amputee as a result of this illness, Ms. Rundles wishes for people to realize that sometimes we lose things in life to gain our ultimate rewards.
Prior to becoming a full time speaker LaShunda spent 17 years in the corporate world as a Credit and Collections Manager most recently with Fox News in Dallas. She trained people on communications techniques and relationship management. An avid writer and lover of books, LaShunda now uses those skills to train speakers, writers, and managers in the corporate world. Her company, MaXXimum CG in Dallas, works with corporations to build business plans and corporate image. She works with individuals to help them “MaXXimize” their full potential as managers and speakers.
LaShunda enjoys spending time with her teenage son Dennis and spreading the good news of the gospel. As a Competent Toastmaster/Competent Leader (CTM/CL) in Toastmasters LaShunda follows her own example to continually improve. Ms. Rundles hopes that everyone she comes in contact with will realize the full potential they have been innately given. She believes that learning is a life-long process for everyone. Don’t be afraid to “Take it to the MaXX!”
